SiS LVM Home Hornö admits men with alcohol, drug, or poly-substance abuse. We also admit men with mental health issues and men with acting-out behaviors. Our mandate is to provide care for clients with special care needs.

Job Description

As a physician at the institution, you are responsible for the medical and psychiatric assessment of clients treated under the Act (1988:870) on Care of Substance Abusers in Certain Cases (LVM). The role involves independent medical responsibility in close collaboration with the institution's management and interdisciplinary teams.

• Conduct medical and psychiatric assessments upon admission and during the period of care.
• Diagnose and treat addiction diseases and psychiatric comorbidity.
• Prescribe, monitor, and evaluate medication treatment.
• Conduct suicide risk assessments and take necessary actions.
• Participate in the creation and follow-up of individual treatment plans.
• Contribute to neuropsychiatric investigations together with psychologists.
• Provide consultation and supervision to staff on medical matters.
• Make medical decisions that serve as the basis for care under LVM.

Qualifications

You are confident in your professional role and have a professional approach. You have good collaboration skills and can work structured even in complex situations. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Requirements:

• Licensed physician with specialist competence in psychiatry.
• Experience working with patients with addiction issues and psychiatric comorbidity.
• Good knowledge of involuntary care legislation (LVM, LPT, LRV).
• Good ability to work independently and make medical decisions.

Employment:

The position is a fixed-term employment. We prefer that you are available to work weeks 28–30 (Tuesdays and Fridays). The work hours are during the day.
